The city of Huntington, as well as Cabell and Putnam counties, declared a state of emergency after a flash flood fell across our area on Friday, May 6th, as nearly 4.5 inches of rain came down in the southern part of the state.

As you all know, Enslow Park Presbyterian Church and Preschool were sadly affected by it as well as all the community around the church.

Second Corinthians 5:7 tells us it can be challenging to trust God during uncertain times, but as believers, we know that His ways are not our ways. He will ultimately work all things for good (Isaiah 55:8-9, Romans 8:28).

Faith in difficult times can allow us to find peace in God's presence. On Saturday, May 7th, and during the following days, it was a reminder that we are not alone.  God loves us and blesses us with a kind community that stepped up to help us; neighbors, firefighters, WVVOAD, the city Huntington, Cabell-Huntington Health Department, UKIRK, LILIES and our generous congregation and friends helped us in so many ways!  We are deeply grateful for all of it and the prayers during this obstacle.

Like many others, we did not have a flood insurance so all the donations are appreciated to continue our ministry.

We still have a way to go, but, "For nothing will be impossible with God." Luke 1:37
